Accepting Applications for Assistant & Intern Positions

Applications being accepted for a 1) Professional Assistant & 2) Creative Intern for Dr. Lucky, artist and educator.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO LIVE IN NYC TO APPLY FOR THESE POSITIONS.

The Professional Assistant position will be 4-5 hours PER week.  Tasks may include maintaining correspondence, updating social media, promotion, maintaining email list, updating and designing website, organizing travel and teaching schedules, and other tasks.  This is a paid position ($12/hour).

The Creative Intern will work closely with the artist on projects of mutual interest.  Artist’s current projects include a book-length manuscript about Dixie Evans, a solo (“one-pig”) show, as well as a travelling burlesque show.  Projects may include research, writing, logging transcripts, design and/or video work, creative collaborations, production work, and other tasks per the applicant’s interests and expertise.  College credit may be available.

What’s the difference between these two positions?  The Professional Assistant job is less glamour, more “grunt work,” but it is a paid position.  The Creative Intern can choose the projects that are of interest to him/her, and there is more one-on-one collaboration with the artist and mentoring, if desired by the applicant.

If you are interested in applying, please send a cover letter in the body of an email to, identifying which position you are applying for and why.  If you are applying to the Professional Assistant position but would be interested in the Creative Intern position, please make that clear.  In that email, include what special skills you bring to the table, as well as the type of projects you are interest in working on.  If you have any major scheduling or time conflicts in the next 6 months to a year, please include those, too.  You may attach a CV or Resume, and/or send link(s) to any relevant material located on the web, but be sure to highlight in the email what you want me to look at as I may not be able to review entire online portfolios.

Applications are due 1/31/2013.  Applicants will be notified by 2/15/2013.  For questions, please contact Dr. Lucky at  Thank you for your interest!
